Flexiprim dress picks

By Celebrity Trollop | May 28, 2006

It’s official: flexiprims really are the new black. For better or worse, (mostly for the better, in my opinion) they’ve taken the Second Life fashion world by storm. Here are my top 4 flexiprim dress designs in no particular order: Sensual Casanova’s Sensual Idol, Simone Stern and Sherona DeGroot’s Josephine, Ginny Talamasca’s Deadly (in original black or in living color), and Nephi Protagonist’s Little Black Flexi Dress. Click for photos and commentary.

SensualidolblackFirst up is this fantastic limited edition release by Sensual Casanova. The price is a wee bit steep at L$1500, but it *is* a limited edition, and it really does look fantastic on and the flexi-train prim is a lot of fun to dance around in. I spent about 30 minutes last night on a ballroom danceball with this outfit and it looks phenominal. I admit I was a little shocked to crack open the box and only find the main dress on the jacket layer and the train prim, so you know this dress is short and super sassy. It’s available exclusively at the amazing new Le Cadre store rebuild.

FramejosephineblueNext is the ultra detailed Josephine “can can” style dress by Simone Stern and Sherona DeGroot. Josephine is another “flexi-train” style, but the texturing on this dress is nothing sort of incredible — the antique lace applique, the two tone boning detail of the corset top and the superb iradescent colors of the train which flows and moves so beautifully whether dancing, walking or just looking fabulous while you’re chatting. Because this is a “can can” style dress, it puts the sex appeal into overdrive with exposed wide fishnet stockings. Named for Josephine Baker, I don’t know how you could see this outfit move and not want to dance in it. Josephine is joined by several other wonderful flexi-designs including Ella, and the super fun Barbie lingerie set. You can see them all at the isle of Simone.

DeadlycolorsadI’ve already written about the marvelous Ysandre, but several others I’ve asked for their favorite flexi-design named Ginny’s Deadly dresses as their top pick. I think it’s drop dead gorgeous. She started with the (literally) cheeky little black dress, but due to overwhelming customer demand, reworked them into some dark colors which all fade to morbid, inky black. I also liked the Sabrina dress, but dress namesake Sabrina Doolittle covered it over at Linden Lifestyles. :D Everything Dazzle can be found in Innamoramento.

Forum_fd_001Nephilaine Protagonist sent me over a preview of the little black flexi dress shown — one of seven new releases featuring flexiprim skirts, trains or both. At just L$100 per dress these are by far your best flexi-prim buys in Second Life. Featuring some of the same pieces and designs as Nephi’s earlier Little Black Outfit, you can now enjoy the same stunning looks with the totally fantastic swish of the attachments which bring this outfit to life. It looks fabulous with “regular prims” but really just goes to the next level with the skirt swaying and that long elegant train flowing behind your every step. This dress and its six siblings are at Pixel Dolls in Chartreuse.
