Today’s focus is on flexiprim hair. The new clothing classifieds are still on fire with new flexiprim designs — and they probably will be for several weeks to come. (More flexiprim clothing posts coming soon…)
When I first heard about flexiprims, one of the most exciting applications of them would be for hair. But after learning more about the new flexible prim types, I wasn’t so certain about it. Most prim hair designers though use tori (warning: scary link — math is hard, let’s go shopping!), not prisms, cylinders or cubes (the only three flexible prim types as of 1.10) as the primary shape for prim hair creations. Elika Tiramisu wrote:
the new black is flexi prims….I don’t see myself making flexi hair. I am almost positive that I won’t. I don’t normally use cylinders or boxes in my hair. I just don’t like the look of it….it’s just a personal choice. I mean, if later down the road LL would offer more options or more prims to use instead of a box or a cylinder I may attempt something with them. Or even an option where you can choose a point for the flexi part to begin…I would give it a whirl…But here’s the deal… leave a comment saying you witnessed me say I won’t use flexi prims for hair. And in the event that I do (pretty much contradicting myself) I’ll send those who witnessed a free Willow Pack aka FATPACK of the first style I make with flexis…..if in fact I do make one.
About 12 hours later, her witnesses got a free Willow Pack of a style Elika’s named Farfalla (after the Italian for “butterfly,” not the pasta!) :D Unfortunately, it’s not released — yet.
(Thus proving great minds think alike: see also Willow Zander’s great flexihair roundup at PXP.) I have more flexihair and pictures under the fold.

- Lash Xevious’ snapzilla photo was one of the first implementations of flexihair I saw anywhere. She released her experiment yesterday, and it’s so fun to dance around in. Lash said she’d add more textures once she feels like flexiprims are bit more stable.
- The amazingly prolific (and talented) Six Kennedy of Gurl 6 also quickly released Vanity, a long swingy braided style along with Shiver, pictured very top left, and Wiggle It one of the nicer “short” flexihair styles I’ve seen.
- Carryn Concord of Tickled Pink (and architect of the Illusion sim rebuild) released Sian (shown second top left) which looked so great on Sol Columbia last night, along with Ciera Bergman’s super classy Flex dress. This morning Carryn released the wild and crazy Rambette style.
- Siandra Livingston created a long flowy hair in black, the whispy banged pony named Felex, and another long flowy style called Prissy.
- Eternalynn Calliope released Hunters: Provoke for L$1 — her experimental entry into the world of flexi-prim hair.
- Babyboo Glitterbuck released like 15 non flexi hairs yesterday, but today came back with Minx, her first flexi creation. It’s shown third top left.
- Raven Lament released Drama (shown bottom left) this afternoon, which is her first flexihair release. It comes in all those lovely punkalicious colors.
- wuvme Karuna also made a free unisex flexi afro style which she posted right after 1.10 was open for residents.
- Finally HoseQueen McLean, Rebel Hope, RH Engel and Sky Everett released Retro, a super fun freebie complete outfit with HoseQueen’s flexible super seventies shagadelic afro. (An outfit my SL roomie moo Money danced around in for a good 90 minutes once she got one.)

LMAO, yes I know…I caved. I had to eat my words and fork over a few Willow packs of my new flexi hair to the peeps, but it’s okay I don’t mind giving it out…we all shook on it lol. And btw Farfalle is the bowtie pasta not farfalla lol. LOL but someone did ask if I named it that because the new flexi prims looked like noodles lol
Posted by: Elika on May 27th, 2006 at 11:52 amI’m sort of surprised that no one has used “Noodles” for one of their flexihair designs with all the floppy cylinders running around…
Posted by: Celebrity Trollop on May 27th, 2006 at 11:59 amI need good hair for my avatar. I ruined the one style that was given to me and now my avatar is bald.
