Nephilaine Protagonist does it again! She released eight new tintable (yay! tintable!) babydoll dresses. There’s something for every taste and style in this reelase: halter tops, gathered tops, strapless looks and, of course they’re all sleeveless. They all share exquisite fabric texturing and shading mastery that Nephi puts into each design. Pixel Dolls is located in Chartruese. (Wow, how popular are Lo’s new skins getting? I’ve seen a more than a few ads featuring her skin.)
Before I wrote this entry, Josie Hamilton and I were splahing on Google Talk for 5 minutes about how much we both adore this outfit. Miss Hair Fair Willow Zander writing at PXP really likes it too — everyone seems to love this new outfit from Celestial Studios. Starley writes in the forums:
Here’s another project that got away from me! But options are good, right? This collection is available in 4 colors. Each color comes in both polka dot and solid varieties and includes 2 tops, 2 mesh skirts, 6 prim skirts, optional prim sleeves and 2 belt options.
Shown in green (my fave), it also comes in pink, red and black. Beautiful work, Starley. I can’t wait to try it on. Celestial Studios is in Threemile right across from Canimal’s. Tantalizingly, Starley blogs that she’ll have a few more goodies soon.
He’s gone back to something a bit dark; it feels very cyberpunk in this release from DoC Eldritch. This is Legend which seems sort of — dare I say — serendiptuous given the post about Fatal Raine’s brand. I have the ladies’ version posted here, but there an edition for guys too. As usual, DoC piles on the details: beautiful shading and lots of chains gives this outfit a definite punk feel. It makes me think of a superheroine — like something from a noir Astro City. Not, ahem, that I’m dorky enough to read comics. All of DoC’s clothes are at his main location in Gealain.
The Miss Hair Fair contest has been over for almost a week, and yet I haven’t posted anything about it! Bad Celebrity, no biscuit. In this post Starley reveals the answer key and the 5 Hair Queens of Second Life who got all 20 correct! (OMG, no way! Yes, they did.)

We’ve just created the Second Style Magazine forum over at the main Second Life forums site. There’s just one post there right now. (Just so it won’t look so empty and sad!
) But we hope more show up in the coming weeks as we prepare for the May issue release. May is shaping soo nicely — I’m really excited about everything we’ve managed to put into it.
I love how serendipity works. Yesterday, I posted about the “Mary Sue” outfit which features 2 sheer blouses, and today Rebel Hope posts this sultry, full of girly lace bra which would be superb to wear underneath that blouse. Ain’t SL grand sometimes? Get it at Rebel Hope Designs on Isla Del Amor.
In the same forum post, Rebel writes:
[O]ur Clara location will soon be closing as we are making way for a second island. If you are a regular shopper at that location please take note that it will be closing within the next week or so. Thank you to those of you who have been faithful to that shop. It’s tough to give up our main grid land but on to bigger and better things.
I really love looking at this dress (one of two in this post) by Jonquille Noir of Little Rebel Designs. The details which really grabbed me here were the beautiful fly away satin ribbon at the waist, the lacy gloves and the matching choker. The dress itself is a total winner in a lovely cream/sepia vintage hue that just looks so elegant and classic. Reminds me something from 40s Hollywood — like the starlet du jour might wear on the red carpet to a premiere. Little Rebel Designs has a new custom built store in Gallinas! You should go see it and this dress…

As unbelievable as it sounds, I think I’ve run out of new ways to describe how amazed I am by Ginny Talamasca. Last night she teased me with a vendor texture for Defile in gold and then proceeded to show off Nana, and Guerilla too. Every time I saw a new texture rez, I wrote back, “ZOMG!!!” This morning, she posts all three in the forums. Now I kind of understand how a junkie feels when she needs a fix. Ginny, you’re my fashion crack dealer!
I can’t get over the belt details in Nana, and the muted pinstripes in the fabric on those pants is really lovely, marvelous work. I don’t want to skip over Guerilla, but I have been a fan of Ginny’s denim designs and this one will not disappoint either.
But what really made me weak-kneed was the Defile gown in gold. Who says you need prims to look stunning? This design certainly proves that. And as I told Ginny last night, I can’t think of another designer in SL who does metallics with as much pitch perfect shine and glitter. There’s no way you could be a punch drinking, stand off to the side of the dance floor wallflower wearing Defile to your next dressy event. My only problem now? Finding shoes worthy of this gown. Suggestions are very welcome! Dazzle is on Innamoramento and apparently in the midst of a remodel — pardon her plywood.
Tina PetGirl Bergman posted this tasty couture bag on the forums this morning. Who knew? EXAKT doesn’t just carry clean modern Scandanavian style furniture and fun lamps for your virtual house, but wearable art for your avatar. Excellent. This is a clean, classic design — not at all surprising given Tina’s furniture generally can be described the same way. I love the white with black dots — it will go with virtually any outfit. The EXAKT main store is in Verloren.
Ginny Talamasca is on a mission to redefine the way Second Life looks at salsa dresses. Take a look at Cancaner, her latest design. It comes in 7 brilliant colors using the same sexy, slinky satin fabric of Del Fuego from over the weekend. It’s full of luscious ruched silk, a fun chain demi-belt and a steel ring gather at the shoulder. Available now at Dazzle in Innamoramento.
I don’t normally cover men’s fashion here on the blog (I struggle to keep up with just women’s, thanks!) but I just had to post this new hair design from Ariel Black of Rising Phoenix Designs. It’s clean, it’s cool, and it’s HOT. Mrow. Tell that model to IM me, pronto! LOL! Rising Phoenix Designs is on Illusion.
According to the new WRONG Online website, Kaysha Sion hates fashion, but loves clothes. That’s okay — I love her fashion and her clothes!
She posted a note today in the forums featuring razor sharp “true” boot cut jeans and pants. She writes:
I’m dissatisfied with the default mesh for pants, so I’ve been working on using prim bottoms to achieve a ‘true’ bootleg…These pants look great with most heels, but not so great with sneakers. The bottom sits lower than the default pants & doesn’t have the weird jagged edge. As the pants are dark, the prims blend really well in all lights. Promise. Of course if you hate the prims you can always chuck them across the room & just work with the regular pants underneath. All my stuff is always mod.
I think it’s going to take a side by side comparison with the prims and without the prims, but these ad pictures look awfully good to me.
As if that weren’t enough, to celebrate her new website, Kaysha is having a sale (25%-50% off) until Thursday, midnight SLT. I will be stopping by — we featured two fabulous WRONG prim skirts in the April issue of Second Style that aren’t in my inventory (yet!) WRONG is located in Agrius.
