Found! The Cocktail Lounge by Callie Cline

I think it was Six Kennedy who noticed the other morning that everyone seems to come to Hair Fair sooner or later. So it is with a chance encounter that I happened to run into Callie Cline last Saturday. She was wearing a most amazing top with a pair of embroidered jeans, and when she volunteered that she had made the top, I asked her for a landmark to her store, Funk. It turns out the gown top that she’d been wearing wasn’t quite ready for sale yet, but a few days later when she’d finished working on it, I got an IM and an invitation to take a look at it up close which I was happy to accept.
While I was in extreme zoom admiring the gold brocade and the rich red fabric, Callie asked me to try on this dress she called “Scotch and Soda.” My vanity was in overdrive (Me? Model something for you? OK!) as I put on the top and skirt layers, pairing it with Hair Fair release Bonita (in copper burnt) from ETD (and the white prim flower that comes with it) and the new Lassitude mules (in black) I’ve been so thrilled with. With its beautiful burnished copper satin fabric texturing and fun black polka dots, this dress was an immediate favorite, and I’ve since gotten several compliments when I’ve been wearing it.
It turns out that Callie’s made an entire line of Cocktail Lounge dresses including siblings White Russian and Black Russian. Still, Scotch and Soda is my favorite among the three (so far.) I forgot to ask if Callie planned to release more in this series. (Ha! Some journalist I am.) See these three cocktail dresses and all the rest of Callie’s designs at Funk in Elpenor. If you drop by the store, you’ll probably notice the sale signs, but I want to also mention here that with the sale Callie’s currently running, you could pick up the three cocktail dresses and choose another outfit free.
