Fancy dresses and chic tops new at PixelDolls

By Celebrity Trollop | April 11, 2006

001_forumSlt_ca_forumsLately it’s been Ginny Talamasca who makes my jaw drop open when I look in the forums. Today, it’s the super talented, super nice Nephilaine Protagonist. I know all the attention (rightly) is focused on these stunningly beautiful hand painted fancy dresses, but let me also shower some attention on the
sheer linen tops that were posted just a few minutes before the dresses. One of the fun things about wearing PixelDolls is that there’s always an element of the dramatic and fantastic — a story behind the outfit which is hinted at by the clothing itself. Perhaps that comes from the origins of what sparks Nephilaine’s creative eyes, or perhaps it’s something intrinsic to the way she makes her clothing. I’d comment more on the technical points of these items, but I think the ads speak quite clearly on their own merit.

I am also tickled that Nephilaine used hair by Rita Groshomme in the ads. Although I am forever an ETD girl, lately I’ve had a wandering eye (sorry Elika!) for some fun new textures. The other day I was pulled into Rita’s store at Empyrean Emporium and it was really not good for my Linden balance. I don’t want to detract too much from my admiration for Neph’s new designs, but one of the things that I absolutely love about Rita’s hair textures is the way that light seems to bounce right off it — I mean it is Pantene perfect looking. You can see what I’m talking about in both of the ads, especially in the top left photo of the dresses — the hairstyle in that photo is called Snood and it comes with some fun accessories including, yes, a snood.

If you haven’t heard Nephilaine Protagonist speak about her work on SecondCast #12 yet, let me encourage you to download and listen to the episode. I think all Second Life fashionistas will find it fun and interesting.

You can find PixelDolls in Chartreuse.
