Cool jacket style top from DE Designs

1

Silver_topHere’s an interesting jacket style top from DoC Eldritch. Love the short double breasted design, the interesting geometric notches on the lapel and DoC’s customary excellent shading work. This design is packaged as 8 separate colors, including silver, shown, or 2 discounted sets of 4 colors. All of DoC’s designs can be found at DE Designs in Gealain.

Yipes! Stripes at Liquid Velvet Studios

YipesstripeslemonIt comes in five fruity flavors new from Ravenlynn Templar. This is Yipes Stripes, shown here in lemon, a top and a skirt. I love the mix of colors here, and the prim clasp really adds a fun touch to the entire outfit. Yipes Stripes also comes in lime, strawberry, grape and blueberry. Check it out at Liquid Velvet Studios’ main store in Yulmu.

5 new releases from Gurl 6

Audrey2Tragic20Five new styles from Gurl 6 — a sort of store warming present for Six Kennedy’s customers. I’ve highlighted my two favorites from this post. I can’t get over how adorable Audrey looks — it is sooo close to the hairstyle from the movie posters in the original Sabrina movie (no, the original one from 1954. We shall never speak of its remake…) and the little crown is just darling. I also really love the way Six’s short styles look on my avatar (once they’re resized a bit), so I included Tragic too.

After a tiny bit of whining and cajoling, Six is now packaging all 40 of her normal textures in two sizes (one large for size 60 heads, and one small for size 30 heads), 80 hairs in all in an “Everything” pack for L$999. Thank you Six!

Gurl 6 just moved to Euphoria Island, and the L$99 sale continues through May 2. Six put new sale hair out on Saturday, too.

Bling makeup from Gala Phoenix

0

BlingforumI’m generally not a big fan of things which bling in Second Life, but this new makeup release from Gala Phoenix is forcing me to rethink that a bit. I’ve been wearing more and more metallic fabrics lately (thanks to Dazzle!) and these makeup pairings are very appealing. I already own the Shimmer set of Gala’s skins, but Bling takes the glitter to the next level — and it looks incredible, especially the metallic lipsticks and eyeshadows. Gala’s skins are only available at Empyrian Emporium on Vaoetere.

7 new hair styles at ETD

ExoticadGracefuladI am so excited to post these new releases from ETD. Yesterday I wrote about ETD Exotic, and here it is, in all of its wild, sexy, femme beauty. It hasn’t come off my head since I got it, although I do keep changing the flowers. :D At the same time, there’s so much more to love about these new styles. I also highlighted ETD Graceful — I can’t get over the really lovely twists in the bun in this elegant look. Here’s what Elika says about her new designs at the new Couture Isle blog:

Exotic: (Pictured here) Probably my new favorite (lol but I don’t play favorites with my hair). I knew I wanted something with flowers …to push the hair behind the ear. I started slapping prims together and out that came. When I was all done with the tweaking, I looked at myself and thought “DAMN I’m hot!” LOL. I see why Celebrity loves hair flowers…they’re so ultra femme.

Uh huh. And I said the same thing when I put on Exotic. LOL!

Graceful: I just thought to myself that I wanted some kind of updo. The back initially started out differently…like a weave pattern…but it just didn’t go with the front (may do the weave pattern later). So out that came.

There’s five more for the ladies, and one for the guys. You can see them all here. Head over to Couture Isle and try them on yourself.

Edit your prim hair!

Salome Strangelove at the wonderful Linden Lifestyles blog posted a super detailed, illustrated (!) step-by-step guide that shows you how to play around with your prim hair creations and really make them your own. Click through and read — it’s fantastic! Thanks for writing this guide Salome! My prim editting skills are mostly limited to aligning jewelry and fitting prim skirts, but now maybe I can try some of the things in the guide with a bit of confidence (after I make a backup copy, of course!) :D

Three primo new designs from Dazzle

0

RuedufaubourgsthonoreViergeMy fashion crack dealer Ginny Talamasca delivers again in this new release. The top outfit is “Rue du Faubourg-St-Honore” pictured on top. Ginny notes on her blog:

My favorite road along which to shop in Paris. It screams couture and avant-garde fashion. So I took a cue and threw in some splashy prints and colors.

I can’t get over the shrug and included lingerie here! It’s just first-rate work, and the zebra print skirt is definitely a fun funky addition to the outfit itself.

The other outfit pictured here is “Vierge” which is Ginny’s clever joke — it is French for “virgin” — haha. I love it, especially since white is the new black this spring. This is such a lovely, innocent babydoll design — clean, classic lines, lots of ruffles and cuteness. The more I think about it, the more I think the name is so appropriate.

Find these two, and the third release (not pictured) Gatsby, an elegant remix of upper class 20s fashion (think Mia Farrow as Daisy Buchanan from the 1974 movie) at the Dazzle castle in Innamoramento.

Wow! Gorgeous rose babydoll lingerie from Jolie’s Boutique

0

Pink_nighty_set_adWow! Wow! Check out this sexy — but cute — sheer rose lingerie set by Jolie Lumiere of Jolie’s Boutique. It consists of 3 tops, 2 panties and 2 prim skirt options all in a nummy spring rose color. Stop by Jolie’s main store at her new mall in Hennepin. There are a lot of really great stores to stop and browse in, aside from Jolie’s own. (I stopped by the other day to buy the Variete dress. :D )

For girls who love their cleavage…

0

Display_leather_belted_forumForum_ruffleI had a bit of a giggle this morning when I looked at the headline on this post advertising a new crinoline dress (bottom) from Pixel Dolls. Nephi wrote, “For girls who love their cleavage” as the headline. Eye catching, no? But earlier Nephi posted this new release from Triple Threat (top) which is also, um, busty, to use just one adjective. So it’s your choice to show off your “assets”: a more subtle crinoline dress with a semi-sheer bodice from Pixel Dolls or a “hit-him-with-a-brick” sexy, club inspired leather clad bombshell of an outfit from Triple Threat. Me, I’m a nice girl with an inner trashy girl, so honestly — I’ll have to get both. And that’s a perfectly legitimate option too!

Both of these designs have beautiful high detail black-on-black shading, and thanks to auto-return the vendors for both outfits are currently available at Pixel Dolls in Chartreuse. (D’oh!) I’m sure that will be fixed today, though.

New designer: Callie Cline of FUNK

0

Tied_up_in_leatherFlair_beigeCallie Cline is a new designer, but she’s not totally unknown. I wrote about her great line of “Cocktail Lounge” dresses, and the dynamic duo at Linden Lifestyles covered more of her clothes here. But hopefully after this weekend’s postings in the forums (here, here, here, and here — phew, I think that’s all of them!) the secret will be out: Callie Cline is talented and she makes wonderful clothing in many different styles and fashion tastes from couture to clubwear.

Although I think the forum posts comprise about 20 different outfits, I’ve highlighted two more of my favorites from her design work so far: Tied Up (top) from her “Street” line, and “Miss Bizness” (bottom) from her “Flair” line.

I wanted to choose looks that were really distinctly different from what I’ve written about before to show Callie’s design range and her wide roving tastes in different fabrics, looks and textures. Something that runs through all of Callie’s clothing is her attention to details — she has lovely seams, wonderful shading work and her clothes are just flat out appealing to look at. When I wore Miss Bizness to the Nymphetamine fashion show last Saturday, I had numerous compliments and questions about where I got the outfit.

Something else that’s really great about many of Callie’s designs is that you can mix and match a lot of them — even things you might not consider separates at first, like some of her gown designs. When I first met Callie at Hair Fair, she was wearing a gown bodice she was working on with a pair of embroidered blue jeans — it was a great look and definitely piqued my interest in trying to reuse some of the gown bodices already in my inventory. Maybe I could use the same trick? (I haven’t been as successful with it yet, but I keep experimenting.)

Callie’s store is called Funk in Elpenor, and she is still doing her “buy 3, get 1 outfit free” sale. So stop by and take a look — she’s only been working for a short time, but she has many many designs available.

New jewelry roundup

0

HorndangleSooo much great new jewelry, I put it into this roundup — I want to get in world, not spend all day Saturday blogging. Let’s kick things off with elka Lehane’s two boho genius creations, these awesome dangly horn and bead earrings, one chunky style, one longer, sleeker. She released both styles yesterday at her fun, fabulous store on Boing Fromage on Deimos.

MysticAlyssa Bijoux posted this really elegant design called “Mystic.” Shown is the necklace from the set. It also comes as matching bracelet, earrings, belly ring and more. Find it on the top floor of Ricx’s Fine Jewelry in Nepessing.

Magesssets_012Here’s Zarah Dawn’s latest jewelry design “Magess” which comes in silver with amethyst, black with amethyst, and silver with a ruby. This matched set comes with the necklace and earrings together. You can find it on the island of Simone on the second floor with the other great stuff at Adorned.

Psyche_forum_smallFinally, but definitely not least, is this incredible new design called Psyche by Jackal Ennui, the amazing talent who also made these fabulous mules I wear all the time. Psyche has a wonderfully intricate design, and a photo containing locket which lets you scroll the pictures using a menu! Available in gold or silver, this set is really tremendously detailed — click on the photo to see it larger. You can get it at Lassitude and Ennui on Deneb.

New blonde pack at ETD

0

Blonde_iiiDuring the Couture rebuild work, Elika casually mentioned that, “Oh, I’m coming out with Blonde III pack. The IMs have to stop!” And I was like, “Yay! More textures!” (And then that rational side of my brain said, “What? Like 65 isn’t enough already??” But I tell that side of my brain to shut up a lot.) Elika posted the new textures in her blog last week and when I saw it in my agreggator, I said, “OK. Writing a post on it tomorrow.” But I didn’t. (Slacker!) So, I’m a little late on this “news” but after I tried on all these textures last night (see aforementioned post about ETD shoes — I mention ETD Exotic, a new hairstyle which includes 8 hair flowers!), I may have to switch my “everyday” ETD texture from Honey Burnt to Dirty Burnt — love that combination. I knew I was right to tell my rational brain to shut up! (I boss it around a lot when I visit Celestial Studios too… :D )
