ZHAO framework bugfix

By Celebrity Trollop | March 20, 2006

Celebrity, what does this have to do with fashion?! Fair question.

Like most avatars on SL, I use an animation override to swap out the default stand poses, walks and sits supplied by Linden Labs. Since the ZHAO framework is fairly widely used by a lot of people in SL, including by me I thought was worthwhile highlighting this forum post by Ziggy Puff announcing a new version of the framework which fixes some problems with the sit on/off buttons. Teleport here to get the new version.

Ziggy continues:

[H]ere’s the more important piece of information. The ZHAO is my work, and Francis Chung isn’t associated with it in any way. Yes, it’s based on her script, and yes, she helped me a lot with it, but that’s because she’s a really nice person. Please do not go to her or her friends/associates/volunteers with ZHAO support related questions. They were not involved with its development, and they are certainly not responsible for its support. Please IM me with any ZHAO-related questions you might have.

The new ZHAO instruction notecard reflects this, and the names of the WetIkon support volunteers have been removed. If anyone who sells animations with the ZHAO is reading this, I would request you to pick up the new version and use that, so that the correct documentation gets into more peoples’ hands, and people stop going to Francis and her friends with ZHAO questions.

Installing poses and animations into the ZHAO (or any other AO) framework definitely isn’t trivial, but the task is clearly explained in an excellent instructional video by Torrid Midnight which you can also watch in world by visiting her store in Chartreuse.
