Kitty Minogue showed off a pair of very detailed gypsy hoop earrings in gold and silver in this post. Just thinking of my own inventory, I can probably wear these with, oh, I don’t know, eleventy billion of my outfits? These’re casual enough for jeans, and classy enough for a gown. Every girl needs versatile jewelry like this. Teleport.
Ravenlynn Templar of Liquid Velvet Studios posted a new set of semi-sheer, silky, slinky polka dotted PJs in red (pictured), blue, and purple. Muy caliente! L$190 Teleport. Also have a look at this review of LVS fashions at Linden Lifestyles.
This is the first post in an occasional series I call “Found!” because I just happened to wander across it while I was out and about and liked it so much, that I wanted to share it with a wider audience.
The other day I wrote that I had found “a super cute, but super trashy schoolgirl outfit in brown and tan plaid.” This is that outfit. I love this outfit and even more importantly, I love wearing it around. It’s just plain fun to be a trashy girl every now and then, and I really admire Six Kennedy’s sense of style. With Trier, Six dresses you from head to toe — it’s just like raiding her closet.
Aside from the clothes, you get two constant elements of Six’s own style in this outfit: a kitten collar and a fab pair of silver hoop earrings. If you look at any of the promos for new hair Six posts (here, here, here, etc.), you’ll see those elements again and again. She owns those accessories, girls! At least in my mind. As I mentioned nearly everything you see in the photo comes in Trier (you supply the skin and any tats.
) If a brown plaid isn’t your color, Trier comes in several different coordinating plaids and hair colors — I just fell in love with the tan and brown contrast. Visit Gurl 6 in Ginny.
In the photo: Skin: Mocha (Suede) by DragonFly Designs, Eyes: Fetish by Canimal (DkBlueScope), Belly Tat: Ink Slingers (Tribal Heart). Hair, boots, prim skirt, top, and jewelry all by Gurl 6.
Homework: Survey the literature. Here’s Linden Lifestyles’ take on trashy schoolgirl outfits.
The reigning hair queen of Second Life, Elikapeka Tiramisu is looking for a full time model to be the face of ETD fashions. She writes:
- I’m looking for 1 female avatar, as most if not all of my hair and products are for women.
- I’m looking for someone who needs little or no adjustment when they wear my hair. So basically a similar head size. This is only due to time. Normally when I’m ready to take pics it’s immediate and adjusting hair takes time.
- I’m looking for an avatar that I think would best represents me and my products whether it’s shoes, accessories, or hair. I have no specific guidelines, but more like I will know her face when I see it.
Elikapeka will choose five finalists and then from that group, one winner and an alternate. The five finalists will all get goodies, and the winner will be in hair nirvana for the rest of her Second Life, most likely. Please read this post carefully for submission instructions. Deadline for entry is April 1, 2006, midnight SLT.
Lo Jacobs posted this set of comfy, but hip looking sweaters, each with a color coordinated cross detail on the back and a pocket along the hemline. She’s wearing them with the darling dotted lingerie set she released last week. Luxe at Limantour.

Camie Cooper and Kimberly Casanova are still having their 50% off sale in Naedam. Camie posted a new set of lighter wash capris and a set of really cute plaid tops, while Kimberly created these matching scripted color changing sandals to go with the outfit. More sale coverage here. Teleport to Naedam.

I don’t normally cover men’s wear here, but after helping distracting Barnesworth Anubis while he was putting these beautifully crafted hand drawn double breasted suits (they are teh haWtness!) in his store in Deimos last night, I agreed, as a public service, to put up a post here. If I had a boyfriend, I’d nigh on drag him in by the hair to buy Barnes’ excellent suits. Besides, I bet there’s not a woman on the grid who wouldn’t love to see the menfolk in her life dressed a little better. Please don’t get me wrong — I love thugged out blingin’ gangsta style as much as the next girl — but doesn’t every man need at least one stunning suit? Think of the children, after all.
This double breasted suit comes in charcoal, black and a yummy brown (my favorite!) Amazing detail on the fabric texture, the shading around the tie and the shirt collar, the jacket lapels, and the buttons. L$675. Take your men to shop at Barnes Boutique on the Deimos Boardwalk. P.S. Barnes also makes awesome men’s dress shoes!
New World Notes‘ Hamlet Au dropped in to the Stylehive in world center to take a look at the fashion last Friday. Second Style Magazine will have a spread of photos from the event (we’re planning to post the photos that don’t make the magazine here for our readers to comb through.) Meanwhile, Hammy has some photos and a short entry including a close up of Launa Fauna in some very lovely lacy lingerie and one of Lo Jacobs.
Thank George Clinton, Simone Stern writes in her forum post for this outfit. OK! Will do. Thank you, George Clinton!
I love this color (this outfit also comes in plum, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, lemon, lime and mango, and the Clintonesque funkadelified) which comes with a bodice, a long top option, two sets of exceptionally cute bow-trimmed capris, a short prim skirt, a non prim skirt, panties, earrings and a funked out necklace from Zarah Dawn of Adorned. Get it at Simone! You can also see more of Simone’s work here.
Inasmuch as I have an inner goth, I’m more of the ironic “hello kitty at a funeral” kind than the “spooky darkness falls” kind — I get sort of pretentious “Azrael Abyss” high school flashbacks occasionally otherwise. (It’s okay, though — I’m on medication for the condition.
)
I enjoyed the spider web details on the stockings for this outfit so much I had to post it here. It must’ve been a pain to get those web drawings looking so good without warping or stretching too much. Designed by kaia Ennui, you can find Kiss Me, Deadly at Nocturnal Threads in Pimushe.
After two weeks of constant work, hyasynth Tiramisu unveiled the fabulously detailed “emma” in five luscious colors: geranium, sky, fire, mint, and viola. Emma comes with 14 pieces total, including an incredibly beautiful lace cameo tie. I bought “fire” myself to go with Fallingwater Cellardoor’s melon slingbacks. Get emma at ~silentsparrow~ in Ironjaw. You can also see more of hyasynth’s 100% hand drawn work here.
Tuli Asturias has been experimenting with prim skirts over the last several days, and I was so excited to take the Sweetheart for a spin around the grid. I know it sounds gross in RL terms, but I have been wearing this non-stop for the past two days! (Ah, the joys of avatar cleanliness!
) I love the silver belt at the waist, the artilleri inspired petticoating, the texture shading and tie detail on the top is perfect . I also marvel at how the pink rose undershirt peeks out from under the overshirt in just the right spots. With the matching prim cuffs at the sleeve ends and on the fishnet socks, this is a really adorable outfit to wear just about anywhere. Without a doubt this is one of my favorite outfits in my wardrobe. A true bargain at L$200. Forgotten Kitten at the House of Blades. (P.S. Don’t you think Tuli looks a lot like Natalie Portman with her new SecondSkin Labs look? Uncanny!)
